Part One for Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Journal Answer the following questions in complete sentences. You will have 15 minutes of silent writing time until you will share your responses with your classmates.  Should Sir Gawain have accepted the challenge? Defend your response with textual evidence.  Do you think that King Arthur should have beheaded the green knight instead? What does Sir Gawain’s decision demonstrate about the values of the medieval culture?  Why is the knight green? What connotations do you have with the color green? How does it operate as an archetype?

BBC Documentary  The BBC documentary explores the historical context and language connotations to deeply engage with the literary significance of the poem. I encourage you to take notes as we watch the beginning of the documentary.  =74glI1lg1CQ =74glI1lg1CQ

Beowulf Essays  Please return your Beowulf essays to the bin after reading over your feedback. Essay Re- Writes are always an option! Re- writes will be due next Tuesday if you are interested.
