 Anti Static Wrist Strap  Phillips Screwdriver in some models.  A flashlight if needed  Screws in some models.

 Always work on a level surface  Make sure the power cables are plugged out.  Anti-Static Wrist Strap  Work in a open area

 Unplug all cables from the back of the computer, including the power cable.  Then remove the side panel of the computer case.  Place the computer sideways.  Then Use an Anti-Static Wrist strap to stay away from danger.  Next detach The power and data cables in the back of the DVD Drive.  Then push the spring panels in order to take out the DVD Drive.

 Make sure that the power cables are un-plugged from the back of the computer and the power outlet.  Open the case of the computer.  Locate the CD/DVD Drive, most have two connections, one for power and one for data.  In some cases you will need to remove the front cover.  Slide the CD/DVD Drive into an empty compartment bay.  In newer cases, the drive will automatically “click” into place. In older cases, you will need to use screws to hold the drive in place.  Connect the DVD Drive to the data cable. It can be identified easily because its flat like a ribbon and has a stripe on one side.  Now hook the drive to the power connector.  Re-assemble the cover and plug the computer back in.  When you run Windows the DVD player should be displayed.
