Mantle Of the Expert How does MOE work? In the Mantle of the Expert, there is always an “enterprise” to be run. And always a client who needs help with a job needing to be done. The emphasis is on the tasks the children need to do, to make the “enterprise” a success and to serve the needs of the clients. In Year Two our enterprise is to plan and organise holidays. Our client is Thomas Cook who wants our help in expanding their business. We will become experts in holiday planning and exploders' of the galaxy.

Handwriting The rules of the Cursive Style help: To minimise confusion for the child as every letter starts on the line with an entry stroke and leads out with an exit stroke; With the flow of Cursive Writing as letters naturally flow into each other, it is impossible to write separate letters without joining; To form spacing between words as the child develops whole word awareness; To develop a child's visual memory; All children's writing skills regardless of academic ability; To develop skills of punctuation and grammar. All children will initially be introduced to writing using a pencil, however, when they have mastered the cursive style, they will be awarded with their ‘Pen Licence’ and will be able to use a black pen.

Homework Reading – Please record in your child’s reading record when you read with them. Spellings – Please encourage your child to form their letters correctly. Words Reading Comprehension or Maths Additional homework on occasions e.g. project work
