Ideal Targets  Existing Microsoft Exchange 5.5 users faced with the cost of upgrading to Exchange 2000  Existing users of other services who want to take advantage of the additional collaboration features of Microsoft Outlook  Growing organizations who are moving from ISP-based services to local services

SCO Solutions Positioning… ROCK-SOLID EASY-TO-USE COST-EFFECTIVE

SMB Competitive Overview  Microsoft is the primary competitor  Brand recognition  Dominant market share  Also ran competitors:  Lotus Notes  Novell  Others…

Competitive Advantage: Gartner  "The high cost of upgrading from v5.5 to Exchange 2000 and its expensive prerequisites (Windows 2000 and Active Directory) are causing many customers to consider other options."  "Less than 10 percent of the 5.5 installed base has moved to 2000, even though it's been available for two years."  "SCO (shipped for the first time in 4Q01 under the name Caldera) has an understandably small market share at this point, but has good support for all the features of the Outlook client on an efficient and scalable Linux server and is expected to do well."
