Windows Mobile 5.0 MSFP Requirements Install ActiveSync 4.1 Configure Exchange ActiveSync using Your Computer Configure Exchange ActiveSync using Your Device Use the Global Address List E-Mail Someone from the Global Address List Report Your Device Lost or Stolen Reset Your PIN The Windows Mobile ® 5.0 MSFP (Messaging and Security Feature Pack) for SmartPhones and Pocket PC Phone Edition devices helps you to use mobile services and protect business information. With the MSFP, now you can browse the Microsoft ® Office Outlook ® address book on your device and read e-mail protected by S/MIME. Windows Mobile 5.0 MSFP Requirements This guide only applies Windows Mobile 5.0 users with version 14847 or higher pre-installed on their device. To find out what version you have installed: SmartPhone: Start>Settings>About PocketPC Phone Edition: Start>Settings>System Tab>About. In the File Download – Security Warning dialog box, click Run. In the Internet Explorer – Security Warning dialog box, click Run. You will need to have ActiveSync 4.1 installed on your computer if you want to configure Exchange ActiveSync using your computer. 1 2 Install ActiveSync 4.1 3 On the Microsoft ActiveSync 4.1 wizard, click Next. On the License Agreement page, click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next. Under Customer Information, type your User Name and Organization, and then click Next. 4 5 Your Microsoft ® Exchange Server must be running Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 or higher to support the messaging and security features mentioned in this guide.

All rights reserved. 6 7 In the Get Connected wizard, click Next. The Synchronization Setup Wizard displays. This wizard helps you to connect your device to the Exchange server. Click Next. Under Synchronize directly with a server, click the check box for Synchronize directly with a server running Microsoft Exchange Server. Click Next. 1 2 3 Configure Exchange ActiveSync using Your Computer On the Destination Folder page, click Next to accept the default folder. Then click Install. When the installation is complete, click Finish. You will be prompted to restart your machine. Under Exchange server credentials, type your Exchange server address in the Server address box. Type your user name, password, and domain in the Logon Credentials section. Then click Next. Note Contact your network administrator for your Exchange server name. On the Synchronization Options page, select the information you want to synchronize with your device. Click Next, and then click Finish. 4 5 An Exchange Server Alert is displayed on your phone. Click OK to accept the policy. 6 7 On the Update Required page, click OK. After your computer restarts, the Get Connected wizard displays. Follow the instructions below to connect your device. On the Password Settings page, in the Password box, enter a PIN that complies with your corporate password guidelines. Reenter the password in the Confirm password box, and then click Done. Configure Exchange ActiveSync using Your Device Before you download e-mail and data to your device, you need to configure the Exchange server settings on your device. Note To configure Exchange ActiveSync on your device, you must have a data connection set up through your mobile phone service provider. Click Start>ActiveSync on your device. Click Menu>Add Server Source. 1 2 3 4 On the Edit Server Settings page, in the Server address box, type your e-mail server address. Click Next. Note Contact your network administrator for your Exchange server name. On the User Information page, in the User name box, type your alias. In the Password box, type your password. In the Domain box, type your domain. Select the Save password check box, and then click Next. On the Options page, select the items that you want synchronized. Click Finish. An Exchange Server Alert is displayed on your phone. Click OK to accept the policy. 5 8 6 7 On the Update Required page, click OK. Domain

On the Password Settings page, in the Password box, enter a PIN that complies with your corporate password guidelines. Reenter the password in the Confirm password box, and then click Done. 8 On the Contact page, click Menu>Add to Contacts to add the person to your contacts list. Use the Global Address List You can search the Global Address List (GAL) and add anyone to the contacts on your device. 1 2 3 4 5 On the home page of your device, click Contacts. Click Menu>Find Online. On the Find Online page, in the Find box, type the person’s name, e-mail address or office location. Click Find. (If your search turns up more than 100 results, you will get a message notifying you that only 100 results can be displayed. Click OK.) On the Find Online page, in the search results, highlight the person’s name and click View to see more information about the person. E-Mail Someone from the Global Address List 1 2 On the home page of your device, click Outlook E-Mail, and then click New. Verify the cursor is in the To box, and click Menu>Add Recipient.

Click Menu>Find Online. 3 4 5 On the Find Online page, in the Find box, type the recipients name, e-mail address or office location. Click Find. If your search turns up more than 100 results, you will get a message notifying you that only 100 results can be displayed. On the Select a Contact page, in the search results, highlight the recipients name and click Select. Then proceed with drafting and sending your e-mail message. Synchronize your mobile device with your Exchange server to complete sending the e-mail message. Reset Your PIN If you forget your PIN number, you will need to reformat your device and resynchronize with your Exchange 2007 server. See Configure Exchange ActiveSync using Your Device in this guide. You will be prompted to create a new PIN the first time your device is synchronized with Exchange. 6 Note If Exchange ActiveSync is configured to send outgoing items immediately, step 6 will not be necessary.
