A lion is a mammal in the cat family. They are a predator to most animals that live in the grasslands. A lion has tan fur (the males have manes). A pride of lions are able to take down an elephant at night when they usually hunt.

1.The lion’s beautiful tan skin. 2.Their loud roar. 3.Their ability to swim. 4.Walking with their heel not touching the ground. 5.The lion’s eye color.

1.To use their roar to warn of intruders. 2.To live in prides. 3.To defend the territory. 4. A new male that joins the pride usually kills all the cubs to make sure the future cubs have his genes. 5.The females live with a pride forever and the males stay for two to four years.

1.How to hunt their prey. 2.How to raise cubs. 3.To hunt at night usually. 4.To let the males eat first, the females next, last the cubs. 5.Learn to mate.
