2.  Lions live in plains or savanna habitat of Africa.

3.  Lions are spotted hyenas occupy the same ecological niche and hence compete where they coexist.  Lion are in danger of losing the land it requires in order to thrive.

6.  Most lions drink water daily if available, can go for 4 or 5 days with out it. Lions in a arid areas seem to obtain needed moisture from the stomach contents of their prey.  When males take over a pride, they usually kill the cubs. The females come into estrus and the new males sire other cubs.

7.  Lions are family animals and are truly social in their own communities.They usually live I n groups of 15 or more animals called prides. Prides can be small as 3 or as big as 40 animals.
