Service Center for employment support of disabled persons located in the region of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina

Foundation and Goals  Service center was founded in 2007 as an organizational part of ESBS “Milan Petrovic”  In cooperation with Provincial Secretariat for Economy, Employment and Gender Equality and support of the City of Novi Sad  Goals of the Service center: employment support of disabled persons in the region as a part of social inclusion process successfull professional rehabilitation

Beneficiaries  Persons with disabilities  Families with disabled children  Associations of disabled people  Employers  Employment agencies / National employment service  Institutions (Centers for social welfare, schools…)  Municipalities (local, regional…)

Scope of duties  Creation of data base - persons with disabilities seeking for job  Creation of data base - employers  Employment of persons with disabilities in the Working center  Employment of persons with disabilities in regular companies:  Under regular conditions  Under special conditions  Trainings for employers (in cooperation with National employment service)

Scope of duties  Trainings for additional skills in cooperation with social partners (English language lessons, tuition for computer literacy)  Support of employers and persons with disabilities  Psychosocial support and empowerment of candidates and their families in the process of social inclusion  Mediation  Education of social partners  Access to up-to-date information  Information and sensitisation of general public  Sales of the products made by persons with disabilities

Results  Data base on persons with disabilities: over 400 beneficiaries  Data base on employers: over 30 (private entrepreneurs, state companies and NGO’s)  Working engagement: Working center, 119 beneficiaries in 13 workshops  Since May 2010 jobs were found for: With support: 6 beneficiaries (in the same company) Under general conditions: over 80 beneficiaries

Results  Beneficiaries of the Service center attended several vocational trainings in order to find jobs – accomplished in cooperation with National employment service  persons successfully accomplished re-educational trainings  2006 – successfully accomplished trainings: English language, computers, glass painting, cooking, baking, florists

Information and Sensitization  Employment fairs - together with National employment service  Panel discussions  Media support  Printed material  Widening of beneficiaries network to other municipalities in the Vojvodina region (together with Provincial Secretariat for Economy, Employment and Gender Equality

Working Center

Foundation  Working center was founded in 2005 as an organizational part of ESBS “Milan Petrovic” by the decision of the City of Novi Sad, through Local Secretariat for Social and Children’s Welfare  Beneficiaries: 119 Persons with disabilities who have a year, two years or three years long vocational school’s education Beneficiaries of Day care centers over 27 years of age Persons with disabilities recorded by National employment service Beneficiaries of Supported living services Persons who learned about Working center in their municipalities

Tasks and Goals  Gaining, maintaining and improving working and social skills and capacities  Developing creative and productive potentials  Preserving existing functional capabilities of the beneficiaries  Developing their independence, self-confidence and self- respect  Improving quality of life of beneficiaries and their families  Supporting social inclusion of the beneficiaries  Creating conditions for further improvement  Working and social integration  Money stimulation for beneficiaries and their families in financial empowering

Working Center as Employer  Business cooperation with company “Vageli” (5 beneficiaries in the company’s premises)  Cooperation with company “Bozic and sons” through Recycling Workshop

Fund Raising  Local Secretariat for social and children welfare support  Provincial Secretariat for Economy, Employment and Gender Equality  Product sales (3 shops in Novi Sad)  Sales through socially responsible companies  Trainings for persons with disabilities through National employment service  Donations  Engagement of persons with disabilities through Working center as an employer  Project activities  Budget fund for professional rehabilitation and employment support for persons with disabilities (to be expected)
