 90 minutes ◦ 45 minutes whole group instruction  Oral Language  Word Study  Introduce and model comprehension skill of the week ◦ 45 minutes differentiated work time  Independent practice/Small group instruction  Vocabulary  Phonics  Reading  Writing  Comprehension skill

 Each week your child will: ◦ Listen, read, and write about the theme ◦ They will read multiple text/stories/novel that relate to theme  Both narrative and informational text **Daily discussions of readings with partner/small group **Focus on higher level thinking skills
