13. Using the Strategic Intervention Teacher Guide Vocabulary lessons and Student-Friendly Explanations to preteach and reteach key vocabulary that appears in the Interactive Reader selection. Robust Vocabulary lessons to enrich children’s listening and speaking vocabularies and help them master the language of school. Phonics and Spelling lessons to systematically preteach and reteach basic phonics skills and connect spelling and phonics. Fluency activities that reinforce key vocabulary and phonics and spelling skills, while providing reading practice and promoting oral reading fluency.

16. For use with Storytown Storytown Strategic Intervention concentrates on Preteaching and reteaching. For Instance, on Day 5 students will be taught the first lesson on next week phonics skill, High-Frequency Words, comprehension Focus Skill, robust vocabulary words, one aspect of the grammar skill and be progress monitored. On Day 1 Reteach the skill that was introduced on Day 1 in Core class Reteach the Vocabulary Words, Reteach the Focus Skill, and then Preteach for the next lesson Robust Vocabulary words, the aspect of grammar that will be introduced on Day 2.

25. FAQ Can I use it for whole class if I am using Walk to Read? Yes, but you will have to work with small groups as well Can I use this for my Tier III students? This intervention is designed for Tier II, however you can use it for Tier III, if this is too hard you can go down to the next grade level. Can I use this for my whole class if I am not using Walk to Read? No, however you can teach the core with all students and work with your Tier II and Tier III in smaller groups.
