SPORTS MANAGEMENT Sport management involves any combination of skills related to planning, organizing, directing, controlling, budgeting, leading, and evaluating within the context of an organization or department whose primary product or service is related to sport or physical activity (DeSensi, Kelley, Blanton & Beitel, 2003).

Athletic Director Salary: $99,627 – $121,457  Athletic Director - directs all facets of a university/college.  Manages the entire coaching staff  Schedules use of facilities  Transportation  Sporting events  Responsible for fundraising  Ticket pricing and distribution  Purchase of new equipment

Executive Event Director Salary: $100,000 - $150,257  Executive Event Director - provides direction for event selection and operation.  Oversees the full time staff  Final decision-maker on organization and business matters.  Meeting planning/ hotel negotiator/ corporate sponsorships.

Sports Agent Salary: Commission  Sports Agent – represent professional athletes in contract and endorsement and negotiations and other business contracts.  Promote athletes and products  Agents work on commission  Can make $400 to millions per deal

Marketers Salary: 86,000 to 120,000  Sports Marketers - are the middlemen between sponsors and college or professional sports teams.  Find sponsors and teams and negotiate the contracts  Plan events  Manage tickets sales  Create items they think sports fans would buy and ensure that all items on the market are licensed.
