Background for the Diploma This course reflects the requirements of the Diploma of Project Management BSB51407 under the Business Services Training Package (BSB07). The units of competency in this course map to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The Diploma of Project Management is a specialist qualification which covers the competencies required by project managers or project leaders. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and monitor the work of a project team. Typical job roles for people completing this qualification include – –project manager –project leader –project management facilitator –project or program administrator

Entry Requirements for the Diploma There are no formal educational requirements for entry into this course, however preferred pathways into this qualification are – –completion of Certificate IV in Project Management or other relevant qualifications, OR –evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the Certificate IV in Project Management or other relevant qualifications, OR –extensive vocational experience in project roles, with some limited responsibility for the output of others, but without a formal project management qualification Examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry into this qualification based on their vocational experience include – –project co-ordinator –project management officer –project team member –project or program administrator
