When to use Past Progressive? Past Progressive Two actions occurred at the same time, but one action began earlier and was in progress when the other action occurred. Spelling Verb that end with constant + constant: 1.Just add the –ing:  Work: working. Verbs that end with Vowel+ Vowel + Constant: 1.Just add the –ing:  fool: fooling.
