Electronic Waste (E Waste)  E waste are electronics near the end of their “use Life”  80 to 85 percent of electronic products were discarded in landfills or incinerators  Only 12.5 percent of e-waste is currently recycled  Americans dump phones containing over $60 million in gold/silver every year.  Recycling 1 million laptops saves the energy equivalent to the electricity used by 3,657 U.S. homes in a year.

My friends are what keep me going.  Work: I hope to get a job designing orthotics and prosthetics and to think of new, innovative ways to improve them.  Recreation: I love sports. I love being active and exercise relaxes me more than anything. It is important to me to keep activity in my life always.

Lack of Natural Resources  People are only concerned with what happens in the present  We are not looking at the bigger picture  Demand continues to rise year after year, but the supply is constrained  Water is declining in availability, especially in places in India and African nations  Due to continued growth of the global population and economy, the demand for natural resources provided by Planet Earth is rapidly increasing

Lack of Natural Resources Continued  They are being exploited without any bounds  Extraction process itself is damaging, but the transportation of these resources is just as harmful  Long distance transportation  Processing

Automobiles  1.Air Pollution  - December 1970 US reported 89.9 billion miles traveled by vehicle in 2011 US reported trillion miles traveled by car  -more than half of the air pollution is caused by cars  -greenhouse gases destroying the ozone layer  -acid rain from particles in air that car emissions give off  2.Fluid pollution  -when fluids leak out of cars they can be damaging to the environment when they soak into the soil or find their ways to our sources of water
