Parent iPad Information Session Designed by: Brett Wood – eLearning Co-ordinator Paul Bennett - Principal For families new to the Bring Your Own iPad scheme

 In 2013 after much research and community consultation, St. Brigid’s implemented a Bring Your Own iPad Program in for our Year 3 to 7 students.  In 2014 it was decided that Year 2 students would have the opportunity to participate and bring their iPads in for 1 day of each week.

 The iPad program is a voluntary program in which students can bring their iPads into school as a tool to assist their learning.  Over 70% of our students in Year 3 to 7 participate in the program.  School iPads are available for students who do not have their own iPads

 Flexibility to learn anytime, anywhere  Ability to personalise and customise learning  Portability  Affordability  Ability for teachers to differentiate based on students’ needs  Ability to record audio and to shoot photos  Full-day power  Easier to create and share content

 PPersonalised Learning  EEngagement  AAccessibility  CCollaboration and Creativity  EEducation

 St. Brigid’s Catholic School provides children with access to several different technology devices.  Cybersafety is an important aspect of our curriculum and is taught at all year levels.  We also work with our students on the importance of being responsible digital citizens  We highly recommend families visit the following weblink about Cybersafety.

 Below are our list of core apps that students are required to have ApplicationImage Pages Keynote Book Creator Explain Everything iMovie Garageband PuppetPals Dragon Dictation MindMeister

 There may be other applications which are required at various times by year level teams. These will have been approved for their educational value.  At present the list of approved non-core applications includes: Skitch, PicCollage, iOverlay, Numbers, Prezi, My Script Calculator, Maths Dictionary, Noteability, Nearpod and Popplet Lite

 Please do not hesitate to get in touch with Brett, Paul or your child’s class teacher if you have any questions about the iPad program.  
