E-learning helps to : Assist the making of connections by enabling students to enter and explore new learning environments, overcoming barriers of distance and time – e.g. Skyping relationships with Korean students who have later visited the school, emailing experts, other students, teachers, members of the community, making movies about our school Facilitate shared learning by enabling students to join or create communities of learners that extend well beyond the classroom – again through technology connecting up through non school pathways, homework accessible at home, shared documents, shared reflections and blogs Help create supportive learning environments by offering resources that take account of individual, cultural or developmental differences –a variety of resources to suit a variety of needs – Mathletics, Reading Eggs, Sunshine online, STEPS Literacy, learning of languages, Science and Technology videos etc. Enhance opportunities to learn by offering students virtual experiences and tools that save them time, allowing them to expand their learning through opening up new and different ways of learning – school Ultranet, making I movies, group and collaborative work

This went extremely smoothly and was reviewed by all as enhancing student learning – through further engagement, enjoyment, and choice offered surrounding learning, particularly linking with the Independent Learning Programme in Year 7 /8.
