Numeracy & Mathematics Measuring Bee Bot In Nursery cover numeracy and maths in many and varied situations.. In measure we use the vocabulary of big, wide, long, short, tall etc It is not just about rulers and tape measures. we use arbitrary measurements e.g hands.cubes ,feet. How wide is the box ? How many hands high is the house etc. What would be a good thing to use to measure the car? Beebot –in using the Beebots we introduce the children to directional language-forward , backwards,left, right and turn Shapes –examine the different properties ,flat ,curved 2D/3D squares, cubes Does that shape fit into that hole? Puzzles are used to discuss whether shapes will fit together. Comparing- smaller, bigger, more. less Sort by colour, shape , size, type Puzzles Shape Comparing

You know them best .they learn at all times. We want to work together to ensure the best learning for them. PLP gives a record of your child’s learning and should inform readers of the next steps in their learning.

Children sharing their learning and experiences PLPs are about the children and we want them to have ownership of them. The PLPs are available in the Nursery and children will often take them out to share their learning with staff or visitors. Each session we plan times where parents are invited to come to the school and share their PLPs with parents/carers PLP Sessions for parents and children
