The World of the Computer How We Use Computers

My home computer allows me to work at home. Otherwise, I would have to spend many hours in my car to travel to my office.

My old cell phone did not have access to the Internet and the GPS service. With my smartphone, I also have access to my calendar and addresses.

Without the Internet, I would have to wait in long lines to sign up for school courses at school.

Thanks to my laptop, I’ve been able to organize all my stuff. Now I can check my files anywhere.

Years ago, we were able to save just a few files on “floppy disks.” Now, we can save many more files on compact disks.

My friend, who travels a lot, gets in touch with me often with her smartphone. She sends me text messages and photos of her travels.

This is a mouse? Yes, indeed!

Web fanatics sometimes exaggerate! They subscribe to many different websites.

Desktop computer towers are quite large and heavy. They take up a lot of room.

Electronic printers attached to desktop or laptop computers are so very useful for printing documents and photos or images.

Communicating with your friends with is so much easier and eco-friendly than writing letters with paper and pen.

Communicating with family far away via and online messages costs less than calling long-distance with a telephone.

versus “Snail Mail”-- which do you prefer? Why?

Electronic files versus computer files –which are preferable? Why?

How do you save time and money with your computer?
