M&E of International Waters n Process Indicators n Stress Reduction Indicators n Environmental Status Indicators n Focusing on the processes that are likely to lead towards a desirable outcome n Focusing on concrete actions that will reduce the environmental stress on the waterbody n Focusing on actual improvement of ecosystem quality

Use of Monitoring and Evaluation Information n Ways information will be used in learning/decision making -> Collect only data that is useful n Communications strategy/reporting procedures

Communication! n Transparency: All countries reporting on progress and results n Shared database that is open to all stakeholders to view helps transparency
