JUSTIFICATION A driver's license is one of the biggest status symbols among high school students. Traffic crashes are the #1 cause of death and injury for people ages Safe driving and working around vehicle in a safe manner result in fewer injuries. Therefore High school teachers or parents are in a unique position to show their children proper driving skills and to teach proper driving choices. This WBL will build a great confidence to understand the rules of the road to become a safe driver.

GOALS The mission of this WBL module is to provide high quality, low cost instruction for teen drivers with the goal of saving lives. Provide basic information on topics related to the safe operation of a motor vehicle including motor vehicle laws, the physics of driving, perception, judgment, driver fitness, and most importantly, how to interact with people on the road. Provide opportunity to the users to practice what they have learned from this website. Include other related links that will encourage the learners to know more about safe driving.

OBJECTIVES The learners will be able to … Recognize and eliminate most pressures which may impact successful driving. Identify and understand the meaning of all safety markers. Explain the function and safe operation of all vehicle systems. Understand the need for detailed procedures to follow in car maintenance. Initiate preparations for Illinois driving test. Know the materials to study and things to bring at written exam as well as easily obtain the driving permit by successfully passing the written exam.
