To begin with, when using the Asus Eee pc computers and our wiki, writing can be fun! First of all, I would like to say that we use the E3 computers in class to learn to type and to type our writing.

Here at Goddard Middle School in Miss Falcone’s 6 th grade class, we have our own wiki, where we write poems, stories, do homework assignments, and discuss and comment on people’s writings. These are the different ways and options we can use the wiki for and so much more!

The differences from computer to writing by hand Computers Writing by Hand To differentiate, you can have a better resource or reference, and you learn more by going on the computer to write. Writing by hand not only takes a lot longer, but you need to go to a dictionary or a thesaurus to look things up. Why not use a computer instead?

For example, I would recommend the wiki for all teachers who like their students to learn online amongst each other. It is very helpful because we learn how to type and work with other students Though many people think cyber communication can be unsafe and not helpful, but the wiki is safe as long as you don’t put any personal information on it like your address, phone number, zip code, or anything about you. Also, whoever creates the wiki can put anything on it they want. To demonstrate, you can put your students’ portfolios on it so they can write, put their homework on it, and create other things. Cyber communication has helped me become a better writer and reader because someone in my class can suggest what I can improve on and show what mistakes I am making.

How does the wiki affect how I have become as a writer? The wiki has affected me as a writer by getting feedback on my writing, learning better word choice, vocabulary, a better reader, and learning about the technology around me.

What word choice helps make your writing better? I use similes, hyperboles, adjectives, adverbs, onomatopoeias, alliteration, and more word choice.

 In addition, when I am writing I try to use good word choice, vocabulary, and just speak from my heart. This helps people reading it to connect it to themselves or their families.

How has reading more each night got you to be a better writer? Reading each night helps Me understand and create Examples in my head of Some good word choice And I can rephrase or retell What just happened in the Book. That reflects on my Writing like my poems and Stories I write.

In conclusion, I think it is we, students, who should have responsibility and respect and should encourage other students to learn. Using the E3 computers and the wiki helps everyone including teachers and students to learn!
