3 Create a map that shows all of the places your family goes online and with whom you connect With a parent, find three new "green" sites you can visit. Explain to your family member how these are safe sites that are just right for you. Share with a parent the password you created and the rules for secure user names.

9 Key Vocabulary Spam: Unwanted email messages or IM that the user did not ask for Computer Virus: A software program that can damage other programs on the computer

10 Nothing is ever free

11 Don’t open messages from people you don’t know. If you open a message by mistake, don’t click on links or download files that come with it. Never reply to emails or IMs from people you don’t know. Don’t reply to spam, even to tell the spammer not to send any more messages. Watch out for messages that ask for your private information. No one should ever do that. Do not reply or click on links. Tell an adult you trust about any message that makes you uncomfortable or comes from someone you don’t know.

19 What is a digital footprint? What did Mizzle and Electra’s footprints look like? (A digital footprint is the information about you on the Internet. Mizzle’s footprint is pretty small and does not reveal private or personal information. Electra’s is large and contains information that could make her unsafe or upset others.)

21 Plagiarism: Using some or all of somebody’s work or idea, and saying that you created it Citation: A formal note of credit to an author that includes their name, date published, and where you found the information Respect: A way of showing that you admire and value something
