As the end of the year approaches, so does your time as an NCA Freshman. For this activity choose one of the blank meme backgrounds below and create an advice meme for the incoming freshmen. The advice could be about 9th grade in general, a certain class, tips for success, a lesson you learned this year etc. Your meme can be sarcastic or humorous. Please remember this is a school assignment though so please be kind and school appropriate. After you create your meme, please write a short paragraph response about your meme: why did you choose this advice, any personal experiences or stories from this year that inspired the meme, etc. Have FUN with this assignment!

Once your meme is created, complete your reflection. (MINIMUM requirement: 5 sentences)
Then, submit your completed PPT file to your teacher for grading.

3. Example Advice Meme & Reflection
The hardest thing I found in the schoolyear was the portfolios, especially if multiple classes give them to you at the same time. It effectively snowballs down on you making it harder for you to stay on track and keep up with the class. My best advice would be for you to start them as soon as possible, ask questions of the teacher if necessary, and don’t give up. I even worked on weekends if I needed to.

4. Advice Meme and Reflection Example
I found out the hard way this year what happens when you do not stay on track in your lessons or study for tests/quizzes. I am new to online learning, but now I feel like I know how to be successful for 10th-12th grade. I know now that completing lessons as suggested by my planner and also taking notes help me learn the material and not feel rushed. Also, studying my notes and using the study guides provided by my teachers really helped me be more prepared for the multiple choice questions and especially the essay. I learned this year that so much of my learning in the online environment depends on me and the effort I put in!
