Presentation transcript:

Timeline on the laser setup Show a conceptual design on the metal box, 2 iterations Check design, i.e. all details fit the actual physical constraints, size the flange, bellows, rod, etc… Draw each part with all its dimensions –1 st set of drawings sent to machine shop –2 nd set of drawings also sent to machine shop –3 rd set contains the holder and flange (for belows) details All drawings were sent to the machine shop. Order parts –Handles (2) –Hinges (3) –Bellows (2) –Screws (100) Fabricate the pieces in machine shop

On the way Familiarizing with the X-Y stage control software –Use a photodiode with a LED before working on the sensor. “now” Construct-assemble (~1week) –Test light-tightness –Setup gas and flow if needed Start on DAQ and electronics. Measure the first sensor

Familiarizing with the X-Y stage control software Run the code and get an idea of how it works. Make a set up with a photodiode and LED: –Identify any components we may need (cable, resistors …) –Make a holder for the LED –Make sure the photodiode is flat and stable enough during the operation.
