 INSTRUCTOR NAME:  OFFICE :  PHONE: 

 This is a pure presentation course in which you are going to learn the presentation techniques and have the chance of practicing what you have learned.  LENGTH AND PERIOD: 2 hours per week, 14 weeks and 28 hours in total

 COURSEBOOK: -Successful Presentations/John Hughes and Andrew Mallet/Oxford University Press  COURSE PACK: -APS 308 from the copy center

 Minimum required attendance is 80% for class sessions per semester, which makes up 6 hours of absence at most.  Students who miss an exam will not be given a make-up exam unless they submit an approved medical report or any other official document proving their excuse.

 Students can bring documents for the classes if they have problems such as ◦ Illness (copy of doctor’s report within 15 days) ◦ Clash (copy of student’s program) ◦ Excuses related to Çankaya (document from the university) ◦ Working (any document) ◦ All documents about absence will be given to the instructor

 MIDTERM: 25% (Course Book+PPTs)  PRESENTATION: 25%  FINAL : 30% (Course Book+PPTs)  ORAL PERFORMANCE: 10% (Student participation in practice weeks)  TEACHER ASSESSMENT : 10%

 You will make presentations for 10 minutes on a topic of your choice after the approval of your instructor.  You have to choose a topic until week 5.  You are supposed to perform your presentations on the day you are scheduled to make your presentation by your instructor.  You have to attend the first English class session on your presentation day.  Before the presentations start, the instructor will organize a raffle activity to decide the sequence of the presenters.

 If you don’t come to the classroom on the day you are scheduled to make a presentation without an official written excuse(e.g. a health report), you will lose the half of the points for the presentation and your instructor will decide the day you will make your presentation.

 If you have an official written excuse for not being in the classroom on your presentation day, you have to inform your instructor about your excuse as soon as possible (via or phone) and appoint for another day for your presentation. You will be able to continue the process without losing points.  If you fail to attend the lesson without an official written excuse in the rescheduled day for your presentation, you will lose half of the points assigned to your presentation and you have to contact your course instructor again to reschedule your presentation day.
