Warm-Up Yesterday in class, I used the analogy that an author’s rhetorical method is similar to a chef’s cooking method. For your warm-up, I want you to create your own analogy!!  An author’s rhetorical method is similar to ___________.  Explain what you mean!!!

Due  Obama 2009 Inaugural Address annotations

In-Class  Discuss the implications of making an inaugural address during a time of war.  Create a bullet-point précis pre-write  Write a paragraph comparing and contrasting Obama’s 2002 rebuttal to Bush and Obama’s 2009 inaugural address. Use a quote from each text to support your analysis.

Homework  None!!!  Check your grades – use this weekend to re-do assignments or to make up missing work!  Pass back Emerson rhetorical précis revisions (optional) due Fri. 10/31/14  Be prepared for next week – know when you go to which class and bring the appropriate materials with you!
