Last day to turn in any work for 1 st Quarter is Friday, Oct. 30 th This Weds. 10/28 is a “Study” PRIDE Day. Ask teachers for a pass!! Check the board by the clock for useful stuff and things This week & next week: Wrap up Unit 2; mini test-prep unit; begin Unit 3 Pass back absent papers! Make sure you’ve turned in all assignments! Specifically: Education essay (SERIOUSLY?!) Unit 2 Rubric (annotations and OPTIC) Précis: Roosevelt or Jefferson AND Cleese (also: Cleese annotations) Nuts & Bolts

3 Read over your précis. In the space under your typed final, address the following points: In your own words, define “rhetorical précis.” Why/how is this structure useful? Which sentence is your BEST (construction, ideas, etc.) Which sentence needs the most improvement? Why? How do you specifically plan to strengthen this? Think back to your Jefferson/Roosevelt précis. What is the most significant difference between that précis and this one? Cleese Précis
