Malta and Cyprus Malta and Cyprus are two Islands found in the Mediterranean Basin.

Malta Malta lies in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. It consists of a small group of 5 islands - Malta, Gozo, Comino (Kemmuna), Cominetto (Kemmunett) and Filfla. The area of the largest island, Malta, is 246 sq km, of Gozo 67 sq km and of Comino (Kemmuna) 3 sq km. Taken from the internet

Cyprus Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean sea. It lies at the crossroads where the East meets the West. The northern part of the island (Turkish part) has an area of 3350 sq. km whereas the southern part (Greek part) has an area of 9250 sq. km. Taken from the internet

The two islands In view of this, Cyprus is about forty times larger than Malta. Thus the Cypriot coast is much longer than the Maltese coast. However, when the coasts are compared, they resemble each other very much. This can be seen from the photographs which follow. The sandy beaches, rocky bays and cliffs are much larger in Cyprus.
