3. Cyprus, officially the Republic of Cyprus, is an island country in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Cyprus is the third largest and third most populous island in the Mediterranean, and a member state of the European Union. It is located east of Greece, south of Turkey, west of Syria and Lebanon and north of Egypt. Cyprus in the European map

6. Agia Marina Chrysochous is a small village in the district of Paphos. It is located on the northwest coast of Cyprus. Agia Marina Chrysochous

7. Our village is very beautiful. On the west side of the village we have the sea and on the east side a lot of mountains. Agia Marina Chrysochous

8. Saint Marina is the patron of the village. People decided to give the name of the saint to the village because she helped them to fight against a disease (according to an old tradition). The village is known as Agia Marina Chrysochous because it is located on the coast of Chrysochous’ Bay (Cyprus map).

9. The village The population of the village is around 1000 residents. Almost all of the people who live in the village work in nearby towns (Polis, Paphos), but at the same time they are involved in farming.
