Spanish III Course description: 1.0 Credit 30 Cycles 6 Periods WT 1.04 PREREQUISITE: Spanish I and Spanish II Language proficiency is emphasized in listening and speaking through re-entry and expansion of vocabulary, verbal expressions and refining of grammatical structures from previous levels. More complex grammatical structures will be introduced and reinforced by use in conversation. Reading and speaking skills will be developed through the discussion of simple but authentic selections from Hispanic literature. It is highly recommended that the student earn a 70% or higher average in Spanish II to take this course.

Spanish III - Goals Students will be able to speak about the topics of: –Camping –Family & Beach Vacations –Volunteer Activities and Projects –Environmental Concerns –Social Awareness & Supporting Opinions –Describing others –Express positive and negative emotions Students will use simple and complex verb tenses in the past, present and future. Homework Expectations What are your homework expectations? –Homework will be assigned regularly and recorded in the Daily Record Log. Students will daily record the daily topic of study, agenda, homework and upcoming assessments. –Homework will be checked the following day at the beginning of class. Homework assignments are generally 5 points. Partially completed work will receive a partial score and late work will receive half credit if assignment is worth more than 5 points. –Homework may be collected unannounced and may be worth more than 5 points.

Behavioral Expectations What are your behavioral expectations? –Students are to be on time for class, with notebook, folder and writing utensil. –They are to record the homework assignment and begin answering the Do Now upon entering the room. –Students are to do their homework regularly. –Speak as much Spanish as possible. (Stickers are given for each answer provided during class. Students are expected to have 100 stickers at the end of each marking period.) –Students are to prepare themselves daily for class. Even if homework was not given. Reviewing vocabulary is always needed. –Show respect to others: Students, teachers, guests, etc. –Online translators are not to be used.

Hit GO 3.Find Avancemos III book and click on it. 4.Create a user account by giving a username and password. 5.On the bottom of the main page click on 2007 Edition 6.Enter the activation code for the Level III book: –You will now be able to access this book at your computer. In case you forget it, you will be able to access it from my site.
