Chapter 1: Plot and Setting Plot: the series of events in a story Conflict: a struggle or problem Complication: new problems come up Climax: most exciting moment of the story Resolution: final part of the story; how it ends Setting: Where and when the action of a story takes place – a story can not exist without a setting
