Quartz Hill Drumline Expectations  It is the job of each member of the Drumline to do the following:

 Respect each member of the Drumline, Band and Pageantry. If you have a problem with someone, tell your section leader, who will then discuss with the other person’s section leader. If the problem escalates, the instructors and/or band director will become involved in the issue.

 The Drumline, Band & Pageantry are one team. We are only as good as our weakest link. Hold your fellow members accountable for holding up their end.

 Practice your music as least minutes every day. This is your homework for band.

 Show up to rehearsal on time. This means you show up 15 minutes before rehearsal begins. Arrive, set-up your instrument, and be ready to start rehearsal at the set time. Excessive tardies will lead to removal from the show.

 If you miss the last rehearsal before a performance, then you will not perform at that show. We need every member of this Drumline to be 100% dedicated to being a part of the overall team.

 All tardies or absences from rehearsal must be excused with a note. If you are at an appointment, then your parents need to sign the note. If you are working on a project in a classroom and are late, then your teacher needs to sign a note. No excuses!

 Learn to be an all-around percussionist. We don’t want just drummers who beat a drum. You must all learn mallets & concert percussion, as well as your marching drum in order to be a member of this Drumline. This includes learning all of your major & minor scales by the end of the school year.

 Listen and learn to the instructors and directors during rehearsals. If you have a question, raise your hand. Otherwise, stay quiet!
