Welcome to PE100 Health & Fitness Please have a seat and quietly begin filling out your questionnaire. Thank you! Instructor: Coach Papka

Essential Questions IWho am I ? YOUWho are YOU ? HEREWhat the heck are we doing HERE?

Coach Papka Grew up an Army “brat” Graduated from high school Went to college Got a job(s) Got married… No kids (yet), just dogs? I Who am I ?

What’s your name? Where were you born? Tell us something about yourself that we don’t know…(keep it “G” Rated)! YOU Who are YOU ?

HERE What the heck are we doing HERE ? Classroom Rules Routines & Rituals Syllabus Expectations What You need?

Classroom Rules Treat everyone with respect and humility. One person talks at a time; raise your hand if you have a question or comment. All FCHS rules and policies apply to this classroom.

Routines & Rituals Students will report to the classroom and begin the designated warm-up activity. The daily agenda will be posted. Each class will be structured to have an opening or warm- up activity, a work session, and a closing or wrap-up. Students should be actively engaged in the daily lesson and/or activity throughout the entirety of class. Students will remain in class until the bell sounds, or the instructor’s release. Push chairs underneath the tables when you leave. Leave the classroom cleaner than you found it!

Syllabus Everyone get their syllabus out and we’ll go over it together

To the Locker Rooms… Release the hounds!

Expectations I expect students to take responsibility for personal actions and demonstrate respect for others. I expect students to demonstrate effective communication skills. I expect students to apply multiple strategies to solve problems and create quality work. I expect students to openly communicate with the instructor and voice any questions or concerns they may have.

What You Need? A positive attitude! Respect for self and others. A willingness to learn new concepts and skills. A genuine effort and attempt to improve physically. A three ring binder with tabs for your portfolio. Comfortable, athletic type clothing to change into for physical activity sessions. Must adhere to FCHS Dress Code. Lock for locker (optional).

What Now? Work individually on your crossword puzzle… I want to see if anyone can complete the entire puzzle on their own!

Wrap Up For Tuesday –Meet here –Bring binders –Bring clothes to change into –Bring lock if you want to secure your belongings

TICKET-OUT-THE-DOOR On a scrap sheet of paper, write down one question you want answered about this class or anything we discussed today… Do not put your name on it! Have a great weekend!
