La Academia de los Niños Dotados y Talentosos en QVMS Persuasive Presentation

Context  You will create a promotional, professional-like presentation that advertises and promotes either:  GT Academy ~Or~  An FBISD high school ~Or~  An FBISD high school academy

Requisitos  Por lo menos 50 NUEVAS palabras vocabularias de las listas “Mi Vida Loca” y “Mis Actividades”  (you may use as many other vocab words from those lists that you would like, but 50 need to be new to 8 th grade)  Muchísimos mandatos  El tiempo futuro

Requisitos—informative portion  Discuss:  Clases  Extracurriculares  (Not in a LIST form! Use natural flow and persuasive techniques.)  Any rules, procedures or important info that others would need to know  THESE MUST INCLUDE DETAILS OF REQUIREMENTS AND ACTIVITIES AND EXPECTATIONS—(great place to insert vocab)

Requisitos—conversation portion  Your presentation will include a short skit inserted to show the real-life connection and experiences of students in the Academy. This will be the support of your promotion. (Hint: here’s where the conversation you wrote a few weeks ago comes in )  This is informal, and not the main focus of your presentation. But rather, it adds to the persuasiveness of your presentation.

Summary  It is a persuasive presentation!  You must invite and draw people to the school  You must decide on your audience and tell them WHY it is the best school for them/their child  Your audience is prospective students who want to attend the academy, OR  Your audience can be parents that you are trying to convince to “let” you go to the certain school, OR  Your audience is parents/people/media who are outside the district and you want them to know what makes the school great or special  This may be like an advertisement, a professional promotion, or a commercial
