How to be an Out-of-This World Music Student!

When coming into class I should: A.Jump around like a kangaroo. B.Put up my binder and take my assigned seat. C.Start to cry. D.Put a smile on my face.

IF YOU SAID B:Put up my binder and take my assigned seat. YOU ARE RIGHT! IF YOU SAID D: Put a smile on your face, YOU ARE RIGHT AGAIN. If YOU SAID A: Jump around like a kangaroo – We need to call the zookeeper. If YOU SAID C: Start to cry, perhaps you need to go back to elementary school.

When Mrs. Oeste is talking I should: A.Jump around like a kangaroo. B.Listen RESPECTFULLY because she is really good at her job and knows what she is doing and if she is happy we are all happy. C.Start to cry. D.Think about what’s for lunch.

IF YOU SAID B: Listen RESPECTFULLY because she is really good at her job and knows what she is doing and if SHE is happy we are all happy. YOU ARE RIGHT! ANY OTHER ANSWER WILL GET YOU INTO TROUBLE.

OR HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THE VIEW

When handed an instrument I should: A.Jump around like a kangaroo. B.Listen for instructions before playing. C.Treat the instrument with respect. D.Put a smile on my face.

IF YOU SAID B:Listen for instructions before playing -YOU ARE RIGHT! If YOU SAID C: Treat the instrument with respect, YOU ARE RIGHT AGAIN!!! IF YOU SAID D: Put a smile on your face – YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT, unless you didn’t do B, and C. If you didn’t do B and C, all the smiles in the world won’t keep you from losing that instrument.

OR, NO BULLIES ALLOWED

IF I do any of the following I am considered a bully in music class: A.Laugh at someone. B.Move someone’s binder. C.Touch/push/slap/pinch another student. D.Make fun of someone’s attempt to make music. E.Threaten anyone in any way, shape or form. F.Tease someone who is just doing their best.

THIS ONE’S EASY: ANY ATTEMPT TO BULLY ANY ONE IN ANY WAY WILL RESULT IN A DISCIPLINE REFERRAL. EVERY TIME NO TOLERANCE

OR, WE’RE ALL CAMPING OUT TOGETHER FOR 45 MINUTES

When asked to participate I should: A.Ask to do my math homework instead. B.Be ready to put my whole heart into everything I do. C.Say “I’m bored”. D.Put a smile on my face.

IF YOU SAID A: You would rather do math homework instead - - -That’s a quick way to find a desk in the hallway all by yourself! IF YOU SAID B: Be ready to put your whole heart into everything we do – YOU ARE RIGHT AND YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME IN CLASS. If YOU SAID C: I’m bored. I’ll find you something else to do. Believe me, you won’t say you’re bored a second time… If YOU SAID D: Put a smile on your face – YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ABSOLUTELY NO GUM ALLOWED IN MUSIC CLASS

IF I CHEW GUM IN CLASS: I could choke. Get the gum stuck in my recorder. Get gum on the risers. Have to make a trip to the office.

Or How to keep Mrs. Oeste happy!

I should not do the following in Music Class: A.Jump around like a kangaroo. B.Sit in Mrs. Oeste’s Director’s chair. C.Use a rolling chair – UNLESS ASKED TO. D.Chew gum. E.Use any instrument without permission. F.Bully anyone.

MUSIC CLASS IS AWESOME

I should do the following in Music Class: A. LISTEN TO MRS. OESTE. B.TREAT ALL STUDENTS WITH RESPECT. C.COME IN, PUT UP MY BINDER, FIND MY SEAT, and BE READY. D.SHOW CARE FOR THE INSTRUMENTS. E.ENJOY MYSELF!!!
