WHAT IS SOCIAL MEDIA? Merriam-Webster defines social media as forms of electronic communication (as Web sites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (as videos)

SOCIAL MEDIA VS. SOCIAL NETWORKING Social media shares information with a broad audience. Everyone can create and distribute. Social networking is two-way communication. I'm glad you made the distinction that the social media is a technology and the social networking can be generated from the technology through human activity and relationship building.~Matteo Pantalone

HOW TO READ A TWEET The maximum limit for a Tweet is only 140 characters Followers are those who follow you and read your Tweets. # means hashtag. The hashtag is the subject of your means a specific person. If you are talking to that person, is at the beginning. If you are talking about that person, is located in the Tweet. RT means retweet. You are simply repeating what someone says. MT means modified Tweet. If you want to use only part of a person’s Tweets, you included MT.
