High School Scholars Dual Enrollment Program The University of Scranton

High School Scholars Opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to experience college and earn credit Students may choose from more than 70 courses Costs are significantly discounted through scholarship underwritten by The University of Scranton

Benefits Allows students to transition from high school to college easily Provides students with exposure to college life without overwhelming them Opportunity to explore college life Opportunity to accumulate college credits prior to finishing high school/accelerate college degree

Benefits Significant cost savings Increase opportunity for college scholarship Recent studies indicate a greater first year success rate among students participating in dual enrollment program

Admission Requirements Students who have completed their sophomore year are eligible to apply Minimum GPA 3.3 or a B+ average 1000 SAT scores (if applicable) Demonstrated readiness for college level work

Application Requirements Completed application ($20 application fee) Official High School transcript Recommendation from guidance counselor

Dual Enrollment Grant funded program provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education Goal: Increase high school student exposure to college level work Locally administered through your high school Provides financial support for student participation in the High School Scholars Program

Dual Enrollment College courses can be used towards high school graduation requirements – “Double Dipping”
