4. **Higher level coursework: Algebra 2 and above, is recommended for admission to a Florida university. **A minimum of 2 years of the same world language are required for admission to a 4 year university or the second level of one year of a foreign language. Diploma Options: 1.Standard Diploma: awarded to students who meet all criteria established by the school and state law. 2.Diploma with Academic Honors: awarded to students who meet all criteria for a regular diploma and an unrounded GPA of 3.5, SAT of 1270 or ACT of 28. 3.Certificate of Completion: awarded tostudents who meet all criteria established by the School Board and state law except for passing the required state assessment and/or the required minimum 2.00 GPA.

What to do in your Sophomore Year  Sign up and get ready for the PSAT  Continue to have excellent attendance!  Get ready for your ELA assessment  Keep your grades up!  Do all your homework and assignments and hand them in!  Join extra-curricular activities  Read, read, read!  Prepare for opportunities like Dual Enrollment, AP and AICE courses!

6. Opportunities for College Credit Advanced Placement and AICE Courses A college level course taught in high school. Students who complete the course earn high school credit and may earn college credit if their AP test shows a score of 3 or above. Aice courses can lead to an AICE diploma, which in turn can lead to an automatic Bright Futures Scholarship. Dual Enrollment This program qualified enables students to enroll after 10 th grade in approved courses offered at Palm Beach State College or Florida Atlantic University. The credits earned count toward high school as well as for college credit. Check deadlines for this program! See Guidance for a packet of information and instructions. Early Admissions Juniors who meet the requirements for Dual Enrollment can elect to complete their Senior year as a full time freshman at PBSC or FAU., with a minimum of 4 college courses (12 credit hours) per semester. 11. STEPS TO ACHIEVING YOUR NCAA ELIGIBILITY  At the beginning of your Junior Year, complete your registration at www,eligibilitycenter.org.  Register to take the ACT, SAT or both and use the eligibility center code “9999” as a score recipient. Doing this sends your score directly to the eligibility center.  Double check to make sure you have approved courses for NCAA eligibility. Have your counselor send an official transcript to the center after completing your Junior year. If you have attended more than one high school, the center will need official transcripts from all high schools attended. The center does not accept faxed transcripts or test scores.

12. Community Service  Only Non-profit service is accepted!!!!  Drop off in Guidance, no need to see your counselor just to submit hours.  Official letter is accepted.  Description of work, phone number and legible writing is needed  Ask your teacher if they need help in exchange for service hours.

13. Clubs and Activities  Join a club!  It will make your school year more enjoyable and you will make new friends.  You will develop leadership skills  You will develop an interest in a specific area  Depending on the type of club, it may help you earn community service hours  You will become aware of more activities and goings on around campus.
