Study Internship Semester Berlin School of Economics and Law Department of Cooperative Studies

The „Study and Internship Semester“ at the Department of Cooperative Studies – an overview Combined theory-practice semester based on the cooperative study program of the department Study semester at the Department of Cooperative Studies Internship in one of our partner companies (project work) Program usually begins in the first week of August with the 12 week study period followed by an 8-12 weeks long internship in one of our partner companies English taught modules (3rd year of business programs); optional participation in German taught modules High quality internships in close cooperation with long-standing partner companies (credits granted for internship - project paper required) Admission requirements: very good English skills, basic German skills, very good academic performance

The Time Schedule for the „Study and Internship Semester“ Beginning of August (CW 32) Welcome week (August 5 – 11, 2013): Support with registration and housing Welcome meetings First „survival kit“ Buddy program November August– Study semester (August 12 – October 20, 2013) Weekend seminars for exchange students English & German modules from business programs Exams (October 21 – November 3, 2013) November– January Internship (November 4, 2013 – January 1) Project work within a company Internship seminar (guided by HWR professor) Project paper (supervised by HWR professor) Weekend seminar Intercultural Communication Optional: Fee-based intensive German 1) Duration depending on company requirements

High quality internships in cooperating companies Internships are organized in one of the cooperating companies Close coordination with respect to contents and project work Documentation of project supervised by a lecturer from he HWR Regular internship seminars to reflect application of theoretical contents Assignments are allocated based on Availability Matching of skills of applying student and requirements of the company Internship in log-standing cooperating companies from different industries, e.g. Utilities Hotels (Internet based) service companies Producing companies Non-profit companies
