1 AP’S EUROPEAN PROJECT SEMESTER A challenging innovation lab for future professionals

2 EUROPEAN PROJECT SEMESTER (EPS): BASIS FACTS A 30 ECTS English spoken international module For both incoming Erasmus+ students as regular students A mix of project work (20 ECTS) and supportive courses (10 ECTS) During the spring semester of each academic year Co-organized by AP University College & University of Antwerp

3 AN INNOVATION LAB FOR FUTURE PROFESSIONALS InternationalInterdisciplinary Real-life projectsTeam work EPS

4 PROJECT WORK (20 ECTS) ± 12 challenging real-life projects for different study backgrounds 4 to 7 students per team At least 3 nationalities per team Student teams are interdisciplinary composed Intensive coaching by experienced lecturers In close cooperation with companies and organizations

5 SUPPORTIVE COURSES (10 ECTS) Teambuilding & Cross Cultural Exploration – Background of Belgium (Economy, society, political perspective) – Teambuilding & Cross cultural communication Integrated Design – Business canvas & Cross media communication design – Designing electronic products – Intellectual Property – Project Management, 1: introduction & 2: drawing up a project plan – Sustainable design – Usability Languages – Dutch language course (basic) – English @ work! (advanced)

6 PROJECT EXAMPLE: DESIGN A GGULIVRR GAME Project goal: to build a GGULIVRR game in the MAS │ Museum aan de Stroom. The game, which is being developed for different audiences, enables the visitor to interact with the museum’s collection in an innovative way Students who are interested in contextual mobile learning games are welcome to join this EPS project: Teacher Training (history, language,...) Instructional Design Applied Informatics Business Management or Marketing Creative Arts Multimedia

7 PROJECT EXAMPLE: THE e-POP- UP STORE Context: both the city of Antwerp and shop owners want to improve the energy efficiency of the buildings in the heart of the city. Shops will have to close for some time during renovation. EPS-participants will design a pop-up store in which shop owners can continue their business and at the same time show what an energy friendly shop could look like.

9 PROJECT EXAMPLE: A PLATE FULL OF RIGHTS Goal: design a digital environment where children can learn in a participative way, reflect on the consequences of children’s rights and exchange experiences with other children In close collaboration with UNICEF
