Battle For Fort Dunsque By: JF

The Battle Was Between The French and British  The British wanted to remove the French from the Ohio Valley so they decided to attack them and forcefully remove them from the land. This Battle was part of the French and Indian war.

The Battle was led by…  The British were led by General Edward Braddock. He was described as a stubborn and cocky man.  He Frequently bragged about how he was going to “sweep the French right out of Ohio Valley” and take it for themselves. … And then we are going to kick the French right out of Ohio valley and everybody will love me!

They didn’t have much experience…  General Braddock had zero experience fighting in North American forests so their journey was noisy and slow.  They were warned by George Washington and Indian scouts but Braddock was confident so they continued. Ah we’ll just wing it! So…er what do we do now?

The Grew Closer When…  SURPRISE! The French attacked the British with their native american allies. This attack alone wiped out many of the British soldiers.  They were completely caught off guard by sharpshooters in trees. They were easy targets because of their bright red coats. Which ones do we shoot? The red ones. They’re easy to spot

They Failed  They never got the chance to take Ohio Valley away from the French. The first surprise battle was the first fail of many. They eventually gave up. Many British soldiers died  Well, what an eventful battle this was. NOT Seriously?! Are all of you dead? No sir, I’m alive No, sir

This Battle…  Wasn’t too great if you were team British. Yet, we can admire them for their courage and strength.  In the end the French won many important battles in the war. They of course got Fort Dunsque and kept it for a while.
