1 Events that lead up to the REVOLUTIONARY WAR By: Jessica Beller

2 The French and Indian War… Britain, France, and Spain often fought to gain more land around the world. Europeans called Native Americans “Indians," so the British colonists called the war “The French and Indian War”. First, Britain lost many battles. The reason why they lost so many battles was because of there bright red coats. (It made them very easy to spot and shoot), but finally the British won and they won lots of land to the west of the 13 colonies. 3 The Proclamation of 1763… Great Britain gave the land they won in the French and Indian war back to the Indians; the colonist couldn’t move west of the Appalachian Mountains.

4 The Stamp Act… This act was when the British Government had put a tax on all paper products. (Ex.- Playing cards, marriage licenses, diplomas, and much more.) 5 The Boston Massacre… 1 British soldier was getting teased so he called 7 more solders to stand by him but he told him not to shoot because they were suppose to be the colonist babysitter. By now there were lots of colonist against 8 soldiers. 1 solder thought he heard “FIRE!” so he shot and the rest of the soldiers shot and first 3 colonists were dead and 6 were wounded. 6 The Boston Tea Party… The colonist got tired of paying taxes on tea so they dressed up as the Mohawk Indians and the opened the boxes of tea with there axes. 7 Townshend Act… First they cancelled the Stamp act and the made the Townshend Act. This act said that the colonist had to pay taxes on everyday products. This Act was worst. Ex.- Glass, lad and much more.
