Its landscape is spectacular. Guinea has some of the world’s few remaining tropical dry forests.

 Gained independence from France in October 2,  Guinea belonged to African empires but then made part of french West Africa  Its form of government since independence is autocratic, which is one person possesses unlimited power. This has made Guinea one of the poorest countries in the world.  Government type is republic

 Guinea is known as the "chateau d'eau de l'Afrique de l'ouest" : the water tank of West Africa, it is the source of the Niger River  Very poor country  First french african colony to gain independence  It is also where the Fulbe people come from

People speak french in Guinea because it used to be ruled by the French until 1958 when Guinea gained independence so they inherited the language.
