Blogging to Nirvana K.J.Benoy

Why Blog? 1.Im hopelessly disorganized if I dont. 2.Parents and students can access this anywhere, any time. The impact of any absence is minimized. For example Sardara Dhuga is in India right now, but is taking History 12 with me remotely. 3.It rids me of dealing with What did I miss? and What will I miss? questions every day. 4.I never have to run off additional copies of assignments. 5.Having everything online allows new teachers to borrow and steal what they need – no need to ask. 6.TOCs can get all they need online. My blog is at

Who Else Blogs? A Quick check indicates that many Sutherland teachers use blogs – in a variety of ways to achieve different aims. –Hazel – who uses it as a tips and information tool.Hazel –Norm – Whos outside commitments requires that everything is crystal clear to students and TOCs.Norm –Michelle – Who needs to communicate with students and parents about extra-curricular matters.Michelle –Drew – Who, as a student teacher, needs to make material available to school and faculty advisors, as well as students.Drew

It is Easy Blogger is easier than word-processing. I learned all I needed to know from the online tutorial and had a blog running in 7 minutes. It replaces binders full of notes, a binder of lesson plans, a week plan posted on the wall, file cabinets full of paper and shelves of videos and DVDs -- and it puts all of this online for students and their parents to access.– better still, next term I use what I have and just make adjustments. …and I cant lose any of it because it is all online.
