Book Week 2019: The Musical Begins Monday 9th September

We want the whole school to read for at least 2 hours. Get your Reading Challenge form from your Tutor. (There will be extra copies in the library.)

All completed Reading Challenge forms will be entered into a prize draw. During BOOK WEEK 2019, bring your Reading Challenge form along to the School Library at interval and you will be entitled to a free piece of fruit and a snack.

Pick up a sponsor form from the School Library. Take part in the SPONSORED READ and raise money for READ FOR GOOD which supports a number of children's charities. Remember even small donations can make a huge difference so even if you are not taking part in the Sponsored Read yourself, why not sponsor someone who is. If every Tutor Group nominated and sponsored just ONE person that would make a huge difference to the children helped by Pick up a sponsor form from the School Library.

All S1 pupils are encouraged to take part in the BOOK WEEK Book Hunt. Staff and Library Assistants will be wearing book badges. All you have to do is find three book titles with three different musical ingredients. Enter as many times as you like as long as you use three different book titles each time. There are great prizes to be won. S2-6 pupils who wish to take part can pick up a sheet from the School Library.

Recommend a book that you think hits all the right notes and you could win a prize. Pick up a form from the School Library. Every recommendation will be entered into a prize draw and you can recommend as many books as you like. Entries must be handed in to the School Library by the end of the day on Friday 13th September.

Perhaps you could encourage your Tutor to enter the competition too. Book Week: The Musical Making a Song and Dance about Books Dress Blurbie, our School Library mascot, as a character from a book. Tutor groups will be given the chance to vote for their favourites and prizes will be awarded to the TOP TEN designs. Perhaps you could encourage your Tutor to enter the competition too.

Take part in the Tutor Group competitions and you could win a prize for your Tutor group.

Writing Competition For full details and entry forms visit the School Library. You can write in any way you like using any one of five song titles as your inspiration. Everyone who submits an entry will get a certificate and prizes will be awarded for the best entries.

BOOK WEEK 2019 Pick up your FREE limited edition bookmark from the School Library.

Let’s make a song and dance about books. Whatever you do, don’t let BOOK WEEK 2019 pass you by. Make sure you hand in your Reading Challenge sheet by 3.30pm on Wednesday 18th September. Everyone who submits a completed form will get a certificate and the chance to win a prize. Let’s make a song and dance about books.
