11 Respect Responsibility Safety

12 The Act of Giving The time we spend with others over the holidays and the way we treat them can make a big impact. Gifts aren’t always wrapped in paper and bows. You can also give people gifts that may positively impact their day. With a partner, discuss what gifts you can give someone that aren’t wrapped.

13 Did you mention the following?:
-Donating to a charity: You can volunteer, donate your time, and it doesn’t cost anything, but can make someone’s day. -Helping someone with a task: It could be a teacher, a family member, a friend, a neighbor, etc. -Showing you care: Sometimes taking the time to listen to others, focus on them (instead of being on your phone or computer), or even spending time with them helps let others know you care about them. -Say hello or smile at someone as you pass by them: Even if you don’t know them, being kind can make someone’s day.

14 A letter can also be a great gift for someone!
Do now: Write a letter can really brighten someone’s day. On a piece of paper, write a letter to a friend, family member, teacher, or someone else. Discuss why you are thankful for them, what you appreciate about them, wish them a happy holiday, etc. If you are writing to a teacher at Lathrop, give it to your CP teacher or deliver it yourself. Teachers- A box will be in the mail-room to collect letters.
