GoArmyEd FTA Policy Soldiers will be eligible for two tiers of TA depending on their current level of civilian education.

Tier 1 Have not attained a bachelor’s degree and wish to pursue: Undergraduate certificate/diploma Associate or bachelor’s degree Previously attained a bachelor’s degree without the use of TA graduate certificate/diploma master’s degree.

Tier 1 TA Eligibility Enlisted Soldiers who have graduated Advanced Individual Training. Warrant officers who have graduated Warrant Officer Basic Course. Officers who have graduated Basic Officer Leaders Course.

Tier 2 Soldiers who previously used FTA for any portion of their undergraduate degree, have attained a bachelor’s degree, and wish to pursue a graduate certificate or master’s degree.

Tier 2 TA Eligibility Enlisted Soldiers who have successfully completed Advanced Leaders Course. Warrant officers who have graduated Warrant Officer Advanced Course. Officers who have graduated Captain Career Course or equivalent.

GoArmyEd FTA Policy FTA requests must be Approved before the START date of the class. Soldiers attending schools that do not upload their courses into GoArmyEd should request FTA as early as 60 days before classes start no later than 5 business days prior to course start date

GoArmyEd FTA Policy FTA requests submitted less than 5 business days prior to course start date may not get approved by the class start date and will not be considered for a FTA Exception to Policy. Submitting an FTA request is not the same as being Approved. FTA must be Approved before Start date. Therefore, Soldiers should submit FTA request early, as soon as they register.

GoArmyEd FTA Policy Soldiers may receive up to $250.00 per semester hour and up to 16 Semester Hours of FTA per fiscal year (FY) for subject to availability of funds. School must be in GoArmyEd to receive FTA.

GoArmyEd FTA Policy Soldiers are not eligible for FTA if flagged. Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher for under graduate degree. Maintain a 3.0 or higher for graduate degree.

GoArmyEd FTA Policy FTA Recoupment Class costs will be recouped from a Soldier for: “F” grade or “D” grade in undergraduate course “F”,“D” or “C” grade in a graduate level course An Incomplete grade not resolved within the time limits stipulated by the educational institution or 6 months from the course end date, whichever comes first. A class drop for personal reasons

GoArmyEd FTA Policy If a Soldier drops or withdraws from class with the school, that Soldier MUST drop class through GoArmyEd before the Class End Date (Eastern Standard Time). Soldier will be put on hold. If school charges Army, Soldier will be recouped.
