2nd Advising Session will Cover: Provide instructions to complete Academic Planner if not completed Discuss Academic Progress Discuss Registration for next term Provide resources and campus referrals as needed Before 2nd Advising Session: Confirm Major & Review iAAR Complete Academic Planner

6 Students who do not complete the requirements will receive a

15 Course Registration Dropping/Withdrawing
Building a Schedule: Course Options(Learning Communities, Hybrid, DE) Course Load- 18 credit hours max per semester Prerequisites/ Co-requisites Start Terms/Dates Academic Calendar Students may register or add classes prior to the beginning of the session No late registration Second Start and Second 8 weeks courses are available if you missed registration for regular term deadline Discontinuing Class: Dropping a Course: Eligible for partial refund Dropping a Course before the Official Date of Record : A) Student will not receive a grade. B) Course will not appear on transcript. Withdrawing From a Course: A) After the Official Date of Record. B) A grade of “W” will appear on HCC Transcript. Six W’s Rule: First Time Undergraduate Student starting at any Texas public college or university in the Fall 2007 or later cannot withdraw more than 6 courses during your Texas college career. 3 Peat Rule: Additional Charge per credit hour for 3rd attempted course.

16 Attendance & Early Alert System
For a 3 credit-hour lecture class, meeting 3 hours per week, you can be dropped after 6 hours of absence. For a 4 credit-hour lecture/lab course meeting 6 hours per week, you can be dropped after 12 hours of absence. Professor alerts Senior Advisor about any problems concerns, and/or issues.

BIOL B 3 points X 4 hours points MATH 1314 C 2 points X 3 hours points PSYC 2301 A 4 points X 3 hours points EDUC 1300 A 4 points X 3 hours points Total hours: Total points: 42 GPA = 42points/13 hours (42 divides by 13) = 3.23 GPA Academic Progress Categories Good Standing: 2.0 or above Probation: Cumulative GPA is a 2.0 or below – Must see Counselor to register Continued Probation: Cumulative GPA below 2.0 and Term 2.0 or above – Must see Counselor to register Suspension: Previous Term Status of Probation or continued Probation and Term GPA decreases below 2.0 – Must have academic dean’s approval to enroll.
