With the District Administrative Council and District Executive Council Further Pilot International’s objectives. Study and teach the Pilot principles, ideals and ethics. Propose amendments to the District Standing Rules. Review standing rules to determine if they conform to the current PI Bylaws and policies. Make recommendations for consideration by the voting body at District convention including the District budget. Evaluate the District’s Strategic Plan. Plan itineraries for club visits by district officers. Plan Fall Council, District Convention and workshops.

Evaluate all clubs in their District and prepare a plan to provide assistance to the clubs. Prepare the propose district budget for presentation at District Convention. The treasurer presents the budget to the convention body for approval. Approve appointments made by the Governor. Plan and oversee all District meetings. Determine the dates and sites for District Conventions and other District meetings Approve minutes of District meetings Perform other duties as required

With the Governor Serves under the supervision of the Governor. Becomes familiar with the duties of the Governor. Works with the Governor to plan District activities. Is informed on the plans for the year and is qualified to perform the duties of the Governor. Keeps the Governor informed of activities and sends copies of any official correspondence. In the absence of the Governor, presides at District business meeting. With the Governor, approves disbursement of District funds. Assists in planning itineraries for club visits.

The Governor Elect Appoints District division coordinators and other appointees necessary to develop the District program of activities of Pilot International. Nominating Committee Chair District Membership Team District Service Program Representative District PIFF Representative (along with the DAC) District Awards Jury

Notifications The Governor Elect notifies Pilot International Headquarters of all appointees no later than December 1. Include address and telephone number of each appointee as they will be printed in the PI Directory. Sends the name, address, telephone number and email address for the District PIFF Representative to PI Headquarter and DAC no later than December 1. Announces the District Awards Jury at District Convention. The name and address of the person to receive award entries should be in the July Governor’s Bulletin for Pilot Clubs and again in February with deadlines for Anchor Clubs. By December 1, notify Pilot International Headquarters of the date and location of Fall Council and District Convention for their year as Governor.

For the Clubs Makes club visits. Promotes attendance at District and International Conventions throughout the year as contacts are made with the clubs. Points out bylaw requirements for club representation at conventions and checks club budgets for expenses to this this representation The Governor Elect encourages clubs to become actively involved in organizing new clubs and assists them in every way possible.

For Pilot International Becomes familiar with the bylaws, policies and principles of Pilot International. Agrees to attend the Council of District Leaders and the Pilot International Convention following election. Club visits cannot be made until the Governor Elect attends COL.

Other Duties of the Governor Elect Answers correspondence promptly and sends copies of official correspondence to PI Headquarters, Governor, and ECR. Presides at district business meetings in the absence of the Governor. With the Governor, approves the disbursement of district funds. Files signature with the bank in which the district funds are deposited in order to sign checks for the Governor or Treasurer in case of an emergency.
