2 Slide #2 District Board Functions as an administrative division of Zonta International in the attainment of the objects of Zonta International as stated in the bylaws. Promote the programs of Zonta International within the district Inspires and assists clubs to implement the goals and programs of Zonta International Serves as a link between the clubs in the district and the Zonta International Board and Committees.

3 Slide #3 Board Positions Qualifications to be nominated for a position on the District Board are: –Be a classified member of a club –Served at least 2 years in an elected club office and/or a District Committee Chair Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Area Directors –At least one year as a Club President

4 Slide #4 Responsibilities Governor –Administers the affairs of the District –Keeps Zonta International informed of District matters –Works with the District Board and host club to plan the District Conference –Attends Area meetings –Assist in the development and execution of the District budget –Assign Committees as appropriate

5 Slide #5 Lt. Governor Performs duties as assigned by the Governor Chairs the District Membership Committee Performs the duties of the Governor in her absence

6 Slide #6 Area Directors Acts as a liaison between the clubs and the district boards Attends area meetings Assist in the planning of workshops Visits and supports clubs in fulfilling the mission of Zonta International

7 Slide #7 Treasurer Responsible for funds of the District Prepares the biennial District budget under the supervision of the Governor Administers funds in accordance with the District budget Provides financial reports at District meetings and the Conference

8 Slide #8 Nominating Committee Nominates one or more candidates for each office to be filled Nominates five or more candidates for the Nominating Committee Presents the slate 60 days before the District Conference With the International Nominating Committee, nominates individuals for Zonta International Officers, Directors and Nominating Committee

12 Slide #12 Consideration The current slate is to be voted on at District Conference September 2015 in Kitchener Waterloo Elected Board members and appointments will take office beginning June 2016 Please see this as your opportunity!
